Your first step is to find out how much college is going to cost. That cost
should include the tuition at the college you have selected, books, supplies, room
and board, utilities, telephone, transportation, and other school fees. Below
is a checklist so that you can make sure you have everything ready in advance.
- Apply for Admission to your school of choice.
- Request a student or parent PIN# from the Department of
Education via: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Once PIN# is received, complete the FASFA form online at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
(This needs to be completed annually and you'll need your
parent's filed tax returns to complete the FAFSA form!)
- Once the FASFA is processed you'll receive an "Award"
letter which outlines the financial aid programs you qualify
for including: grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and
Federal "Stafford" and PLUS loans (Parent or Grad PLUS Loans).
- You must then certify your awarded financial aid programs
through the college's Financial Aid department.
- Next, complete your awarded student loan documents via the
web for: Stafford loans or
PLUS loans selecting
TexasBank as your Student Loan lender, using
Lender Code:
821016.
- Student loan funds will be disbursed by TexasBank to the college,
per disbursement date schedule.
Texas Bank offers students and parents the ability to save a lot of money by providing
you our "Repayment Savings Program".

as Easy as 1-2-3:
